Boston Black Community Leaders Endorse David Halbert
BOSTON - Today, David Halbert’s campaign for City Council At-Large announces a slate of endorsements from several prominent Black Community leaders in Boston.
“I’m deeply honored to have the support of these incredible leaders who represent so much of Boston's Black Excellence, and who share my belief that the City Council is better when more voices are at the table,” Said Halbert. “While it’s been nearly 40 years since a Black man was elected citywide, they know that this election can be a transformational moment for representation in the city.
The endorsers are listed below:
Reverend Dr. Gregory Groover, St. Charles AME Church and former Boston School Committee Chair
Horace Small, Founder of Union of Minority Neighborhoods
Cecily Graham, Community Activist and Former Candidate for Boston City Council
Will King, Activist and Former Candidate for Boston City Council At-Large
Lee Nave, Jr., Community Organizer and Former Candidate for Boston City Council

“I’m proud to endorse David Halbert because we need leaders who not only understand policy, but are actively working to bring us all to a common ground,” Said Cecily Graham. “Dave has proven to be that leader. One is who is dedicated, and unapologetic in the fight for equity and justice. I’ve not only seen him in action but I’ve had the chance to organize with him, and I know he will fight for us at City Hall to ensure Boston is a city where we can all thrive.”
Speaking to Halbert’s character, Lee Nave, Jr. of Allston remarked, "David is one of the most honest and transparent people you will ever meet. He is devoted to the city of Boston and wants to find opportunities to help everyone through well thought out policy. He has a plan for just about everything impacting our city and knows how to work with folks of various viewpoints. I know he will work his hardest to build the best possible Boston."
